Wonderful people, very relaxed! Made my small, chill wedding very fun with no stress as they were both knowledgeable about their art while being open to our ideas as well. We hired Young Hip and Married to officiate our ceremony after they were recommended to us by our wedding coordinator. We were a bit hesitant at first because they are a bit pricy, but after our initial interview we were sure we wanted to select them for our ceremony. It was obvious right away that they would do everything they could to customize the ceremony to be exactly how my wife and I wanted it.

From our initial interview right until the day of, they were professional and exciting, and took a lot of the edge off the process, helping us have a little fun during the stressful wedding planning phase. One particularly cute detail: Shawn, the CEO, who was also our officiant, prefers to send recorded videos as opposed to e-mails to his clients. We thought that was awesome! The only hiccup was caused by the officiant we initially chose dropping out about 3 months before the wedding for personal reasons. This was a wholly-unforeseen incident, not at all the fault of anyone at YHM. Even then, the company stepped in right away, and Shawn offered to officiate our wedding himself. He was one of our top picks, so we agreed. Despite the initial panic, the exchange went through relatively smoothly, so it all worked out in the end.

After that, everything went very smoothly. We went back and forth with Shawn and edited our ceremony until we were happy, no complaints from him whatsoever (and we can be quite picky!). We were able to run some ideas by him, and he helped us fit them into the ceremony smoothly. He also helped us write our vows (without showing them to either of us, of course). Organization-wise, Shawn worked directly with our wedding coordinator and DJ, and we did not have to worry about a thing on the day of.

We also found he had a calming presence, which was a huge help since we were both so nervous. He was there for our rehearsal too, and calmly taught us exactly what we needed to do, very good for us since neither me or my wife had done this kind of wedding before, not being originally from Canada. We also had the misfortune of getting rain RIGHT in the middle of our outdoor ceremony. Shawn was really put to the test then; he could have easily forced us indoors and ruined our carefully laid out plans, but he handled everything so well! He asked us what we wanted to do in a very subtle way, we doubt our guests even realized we were having a problem. We’re sure a less professional officiant might have botched it; we were really really glad to have him around then.

As for the ceremony itself, almost all of our guests remarked on how beautiful it was. Shawn was fantastic! Everything we could have hoped for. We highly recommend working Young Hip and Married for your wedding ceremony. If you want the ceremony YOU want, exactly the way you want it, and to not have to worry about any mistakes, or dealing with unforeseen mishaps, there is no one better!

When planning our wedding we knew early on that we wanted to put a focus on the ceremony, and really have the opportunity to set the tone for the rest of the evening. Finding an officiant that did not just read out one of five set ceremonies was a huge deal, thankfully we found Young Hip & Married. We were able to customize the ceremony to engage our guests, instead of generic thoughts of love and marriage, we were able to share and laugh about how we met, talk about how we fell in love and really connect. Our officiant Shawn was so easy to work with, he was fun and engaging with us getting us ready for the big day. As well despite the fact he was always jumping from wedding to wedding when he was there helping us with our rehearsal and patiently waiting for late guests to arrive before we walked down the aisle he was always present and invested. The actual ceremony was wonderful, it could not have gone any better, it felt genuine and truly helped show our guests who we were as a couple. I have been told many times in the 4 weeks since our wedding by guests that they had never actually enjoyed a wedding ceremony that much, it is defiantly my favourite memory from the day! I couldn’t have asked for a better day! The Young Hip and Married team took care of everything for our small heli-elopement. It was the no stress wedding we were dreaming of. Shawn did a great job officiating and made us both feel comfortable and we were touched by his words. Erica’s photos turned out so beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for anything more !

When my husband and I started to think about what we wanted out of our wedding ceremony we thought about how we wanted our guests to feel like they were involved in the ceremony. Everyone was telling us how he was so cool, funny and how he really captured us. We wanted our ceremony to be one of the most memorable parts of our wedding, and our guests mirrored that back to us. We had the pleasure of having Shawn as our officiant for our ceremony. From the start, our experience with YH&M has been top notch. After our initial conversation over the phone, Shawn sent us a personalized greeting video to introduce himself and give us more information on the process. This gesture blew us away. After that, Shawn worked with us on the draft for our ceremony up until the week of the wedding. On the wedding day, Shawn showed up early and helped us quickly go through the steps for the ceremony (we did not have him at our rehearsal). The ceremony went amazing. Shawn helped guests (and the bridal party) ease into the ceremony with a fun ice breaker which really set the tone (another WOW factor). The ceremony went flawlessly: not too long, not too short, guests were engaged, people laughed, people cried. After the ceremony, we had countless guests tell us how great Shawn was. We would definitely recommend YH&M to any couple who are looking for an officiant for their ceremony. YH&M is a bit pricier than what you would normally expect to pay but they are well worth the money. The ceremony couldn’t have gone any better! Thanks YH&M and Shawn!!

From the moment we met Shawn, we knew that we could trust him to be nothing but perfect for our day and he absolutely was. Hubby and I decided to get married in a private and intimate ceremony instead of waiting for COVID-19 restrictions to be lifted. We contacted YH&M as we had no idea where to start. They helped us from start to end. They coordinated everything; we even got guidance on how to write our vows. Our ceremony was very intimate and beautiful. Our first meeting with Shawn from Young Hip & Married confirmed that we were working with a caring and professional officiant. We went with the Rocking Wedding package and were so happy with the level of detail and the way that our personal story was told throughout the ceremony. Shawn was easy to get a hold of and always responded quickly to our questions. Our wedding hit a major hiccup when our venue was vandalized and we had to find a new location for our ceremony and reception. Shawn did everything to make sure that his part in our wedding caused no additional stress. He was flexible with the location and timeline for the day, assured us that he would adjust his intro to suit our new location, and took in stride that our wedding took place outside in a downpour of rain. Our ceremony went smoothly, beautifully, and was so meaningful to us both! We couldn’t recommend Shawn more!

I can’t express how much I recommend this company. From the first email to the wedding itself and everything in between, they have been friendly, helpful and all around amazing. My husband and I wanted to do something absolutely different and wild, asking 9 of our close friends to hike Dog Mountain on Seymour at sunrise to witness us get married. When I wrote the email to Young Hip & Married about what we envisioned our wedding day to look like, they didn’t even hesitate to accommodate our insane request. Our wedding was perfect! We had a 10/10 experience with Young Hip & Married! We wanted a small and intimate wedding while on holiday in Vancouver and a quick search online brought up Young Hip & Married. So, we did our research on them and we couldn’t find a bad word about them, just an absolute abundance of positivity. On the day, we were blessed to have Shawn as our officiant; he instantly put us at ease and the ceremony was delightful. He is all around fantastic at his job and we felt honoured to have him perform the wedding. We also had Emily as our photographer. When originally looking at her previous work, I was drawn to her dark artistic style. We decided to choose Emily for that reason. On the day, Emily made us feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and as if no one else was around. It was a beautiful and bright day, so I was intrigued to see how the photos would turn out. We couldn’t be happier with the final product. It felt like a total contrast to what previous work we had seen but with her own unique artistic style. She is a truly talented professional. A massive thank you to everyone that made our day so special.

We had Shawn officiate our wedding and it was amazing. We had so many compliments on the ceremony and people asking where we got him from. Some people complain about the costs for this company on the wedding groups I am in but they are worth every penny. The ceremony was personal and felt like he really knew us. He got our drafts to us in a timely manner, showed up for the rehearsal dinner (even though we forgot to confirm and we booked the rehearsal almost a year in advance, it gave me comfort for the wedding day knowing they had their schedule organized). Shawn was running about 30 minutes late on the day of the wedding but that was due to the people before us running behind so it was out of his control but he did call and let us know so we just made an announcement to our guests so they knew what was happening and could grab a drink while they were waiting. I would highly recommend Young Hip and Married.

When my partner & I decided to get married, there was no hesitation in choosing to work with YH&M! We wanted a quiet, simple, no-frills moment to celebrate our union, and YH&M delivered that. Shawn, our officiant, and Erica, our photographer are the ultimate power couple! Both super sweet, they took excellent care of us. They suggested the perfect quiet spot in the forest, and gave us a beautiful ceremony. The wedding vows course was an added bonus! So helpful. Considering we didn’t exchange rings or anything like that, our vows were the focal point of our day. The course helped us make sure they would be perfect. A moment of huge appreciation and joy for the people at Young Hip & Married that were so accommodating, kind, and well spoken for our COVID-19 ceremony. Our friends and family who watched the video were all like “Wow the guy who married you guys was such a great speaker!” or some variation, and honestly, I just really enjoyed working with them! I’m not planning on getting married again, so I can’t say that I would use them again for, you know, another marriage ceremony. But we are planning on doing a vow renewal or something once COVID is under wraps and we can actually, you know, hug our friends and family without fear of giving them (or receiving) a virus; and for that we are definitely planning on going back to Young Hip & Married to see if that’d be cool!

Honestly, it was one of the best decisions we made!!! He was AMAZING!! We worked together to create a ceremony that was personal and heartfelt and that is exactly what our guests felt. We received so much positive feedback about our ceremony saying how ‘US’ it was and how great SHAWN was. Absolutely amazing! We booked Shawn for out August 2018 wedding- and are so pleased that we did! Shawn was easy to work with, gave great advice and was a complete pro the day of. We wanted a lighthearted ceremony and we wanted people to enjoy themselves. I work in the wedding industry and have seen many a boring ceremony that seemed like the officiant was using a generic template. Shawn made a personalized wedding just for us, and gave great tips for writing our own vows. Great communication over the TWO YEARS that we waited from booking until our wedding (haha!). Both the day of, and in the following weeks, we have had so many guests raving about what an awesome ceremony it was and how great the officiant was (and what rad shoes he wore!). I strongly believe the ceremony can set the tone for the entire wedding day, and Shawn did exactly this for us- we had an amazing wedding that was so much fun (the best in my mind- but I may be a bit biased!).

My wife and I are wedding photographers, and as such we get the opportunity to work with a LOT of different wedding officiants! Rarely do we get the opportunity to work with someone as engaging and genuine as Shawn Miller from Young Hip & Married. His enthusiasm is plain to see, and he has a way of creating an intimate vibe with the wedding guests. Many officiants are not able to get an audience’s cooperation when requesting an unplugged ceremony, but Shawn had a way of requesting it that made guests feel more involved, and it made for a lively and captivating ceremony wherein the guests did not miss their devices. We look forward to the opportunity to work with Shawn again, or any of the other YH&M officiants, as I’m sure they all exhibit the same standard of care! Shawn from Young, Hip, and Married was the officiant for our wedding in October 2016. Communication leading up to the wedding was prompt, the script he produced was fantastic and wonderfully tailored to us, and he made sure that everything went incredibly smoothly. YHM are paragons of professionalism, right down to the wedding rehearsal (which I highly recommend you take advantage of). I have literally no complaints about them and, were I to do it all over again, I’d still go with YHM. They’re not the cheapest, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

Shawn Miller performed our ceremony and he executed it perfectly – exactly what we wanted for our big day! He customised our ceremony to suit our personalities and it was very fun and engaging but captured the importance of the decision we were making to spend our lives together. Our guests commented over and over again on how much they enjoyed our ceremony! In the short time prior to our wedding when we first contacted Young, Hip & Married, they were quick to get back to us and put everything together. We had the most fantastic experience with Young Hip & Married and can not recommend them enough. The communication prior to the wedding was brilliant and completely stress free. Shawn and Erica were both amazing and we are absolutely in love with our wedding photos.

For us, the most important part of the wedding was the ceremony and it was paramount to us to find the right officiant. We wanted a lighthearted ceremony since we knew, our emotions will be running high on that day. It was important to us to tell our story with a touch of humour but elegance. So when we came across YH&M, we really liked what we read (very effective website) and filled out their online form. Next day, we received an email with time options to meet the officiant. We had the pleasure to meet with Shawn Miller and had a great meeting. We felt immediately that with Shawn, we are in good hands. We didn’t even think twice but to hire YH&M. We were so excited, we both felt that it’ll be a great ceremony. What we gathered from our initial meeting was that Shawn is very experienced in his field, he is professional, knowledgable, has a great sense of humor and most importantly is very understanding. We made a few requests that were very important for us to be mentioned during the ceremony. On top of that, Shawn had to be mindful of my medical condition so that everything went smoothly. Yes, my parents were by my side but there were many things that were depending on the officiant and Shawn did an amazing job ensuring that I felt good throughout the entire ceremony, even if he had to do a few uncomfortable things like moving the guests around, rearranging seats, changing timing a bit etc. But he did it with such professionalism that no one felt awkward or uncomfortable. It was a smooth operation. Thank you for that Shawn! I have been to a few weddings and the ceremony has been always dry and impersonal, even though some couples chose their mutual friend to be the officiant so that this doesn’t happen. Our guests thought Shawn is our old friend, and knows us many years. This is the level of experience that he provides. After our initial meeting we filled out an extensive form detailing our wish ceremony style. Sometimes, when you fill out a form, people requesting those don’t read half of it. One thing that stood out for us with Shawn was his attention to detail. I’m very detail oriented and it was so important for me that nothing gets missed, especially during the ceremony. Shawn, paid attention to every detail and we could see that in the ceremony. Not only that, he has given us some valuable advise about certain things that we thought should be otherwise. Thank God we followed his advise. Our ceremony was better than we had envisioned or hoped for. We loved every single bit of it. It was lighthearted, elegant, beautiful, we laughed, we cried, it was 100% us and we felt amazing. Our guests are still talking about it and asked us how we found Shawn. For my husband and I the ceremony was the most magical experience and we are always thankful to Shawn for that. Well, needless to say, we highly recommend Shawn and YH&M to new couples.

We took part in the Valentine’s Day Weddings at Robson Square on February 14th, 2015. We had the pleasure of Shawn marrying us. He was extremely flexible and made us feel as if we were the only couple there that day getting married. After the wedding, he e-mailed us the vows he used so we could print them off and put them with a picture from that day. We would highly recommend Shawn to anyone looking for an officiant.

We really liked the concept of this company and definitely wanted to stay away from a long, boring, templated wedding ceremony. We hired Shawn as our officiant and he was excellent! He met with us a couple of times to get to know us and what we were looking for in our ceremony. He also gave us separate forms to fill out to find out about our personal thoughts on our relationship. In the end, he came up with a very nice, unique story of our relationship to share with our wedding guests. Our guests got to learn more about us as a couple. He also directed our rehearsal ceremony in a very fun, but organized and structured way which is difficult when there are so many people involved. We wrote our own vows and Shawn gave us a lot of advice on how to create them. Shawn was very good at communicating with us and provided the perfect ambiance for our young, hip wedding ceremony. We strongly recommend looking into this company for a similar experience. Shawn met all of our expectations.

For our intimate, Covid19 wedding, Shawn made the experience feel comfortable and special. We really appreciated his words and manner. From booking, to wedding it was an easy process, and we were very happy with the outcome.

Young Hip and Married was amazing to work with! We did an elopement with photography package and got to work with Shawn as our officiant and Erica for the photos! The YH&M staff were quick to answer all our questions and very understanding during covid times when we had to change our wedding date last minute. The notes sent to us by Shawn before the wedding date were so helpful and relieved any and all stress because we knew exactly what the expect on our special day.
