We had Shawn officiate our wedding and it was amazing. We had so many compliments on the ceremony and people asking where we got him from. Some people complain about the costs for this company on the wedding groups I am in but they are worth every penny. The ceremony was personal and felt like he really knew us. He got our drafts to us in a timely manner, showed up for the rehearsal dinner (even though we forgot to confirm and we booked the rehearsal almost a year in advance, it gave me comfort for the wedding day knowing they had their schedule organized). Shawn was running about 30 minutes late on the day of the wedding but that was due to the people before us running behind so it was out of his control but he did call and let us know so we just made an announcement to our guests so they knew what was happening and could grab a drink while they were waiting. I would highly recommend Young Hip and Married.

We had the best intimate elopement wedding last Jan 8, 2021. My wife and I planned it in less than 2 weeks. We managed to pull it off perfectly with the help of YHMW, especially Shawn and Erica, the best duo. We and our family had the best day! 🙂 thank you again!

We wanted a small and intimate wedding while on holiday in Vancouver and a quick search online brought up Young Hip & Married. So, we did our research on them and we couldn’t find a bad word about them, just an absolute abundance of positivity. On the day, we were blessed to have Shawn as our officiant; he instantly put us at ease and the ceremony was delightful. He is all around fantastic at his job and we felt honoured to have him perform the wedding. We also had Emily as our photographer. When originally looking at her previous work, I was drawn to her dark artistic style. We decided to choose Emily for that reason. On the day, Emily made us feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and as if no one else was around. It was a beautiful and bright day, so I was intrigued to see how the photos would turn out. We couldn’t be happier with the final product. It felt like a total contrast to what previous work we had seen but with her own unique artistic style. She is a truly talented professional. A massive thank you to everyone that made our day so special.

I have only good things to say about Shawn. He was professional, organized, timely, thoughtful, caring and supportive throughout the whole process. He created the perfect ceremony that was specific to us as a couple. Everyone who attended our wedding commented on how awesome he was. My husband and I were both so nervous on the big day but when we got to finally see each other, hold hands up at the altar and listen to Shawn, all of that melted away and we were overcome with happiness and excitement. He convinced us to read our own personal vows and we are both very happy we did.

He was very understanding and patient with all of my edits of the ceremony (little add ins here and there) and found a way to encorporate anything and everything we asked for! Shawn had a big part in making our day as special and perfect as it was. Cannot thank him enough! Highly recommend!!

Shawn from Young, Hip, and Married was the officiant for our wedding last October (2016). Communication leading up to the wedding was prompt, the script he produced was fantastic and wonderfully tailored to us, and he made sure that everything went incredibly smoothly. YHM are paragons of professionalism, right down to the wedding rehearsal (which I highly recommend you take advantage of). I have literally no complaints about them and, were I to do it all over again, I’d still go with YHM. They’re not cheap, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

We spent quite a bit of time researching wedding officiants in Vancouver and we are so glad that we met with Shawn Miller.

Together, we worked to customize an entire ceremony that was completely and genuinely us. His infinite patience and creativity had all our guests talking about how sincere and refreshing it was to attend a wedding where the officiant spoke like he actually got the chance to get to know the couple and engaged with those gathered to witness the marriage. Shawn’s advice and guidance was invaluable when planning the big day and we are one of the lucky few that can say our ceremony started right on time!

We had the pleasure of having Shawn as our officiant for our ceremony. From the start, our experience with YH&M has been top notch. After our initial conversation over the phone, Shawn sent us a personalized greeting video to introduce himself and give us more information on the process. This gesture blew us away. After that, Shawn worked with us on the draft for our ceremony up until the week of the wedding. On the wedding day, Shawn showed up early and helped us quickly go through the steps for the ceremony (we did not have him at our rehearsal). The ceremony went amazing. Shawn helped guests (and the bridal party) ease into the ceremony with a fun ice breaker which really set the tone (another WOW factor). The ceremony went flawlessly: not too long, not too short, guests were engaged, people laughed, people cried. After the ceremony, we had countless guests tell us how great Shawn was. We would definitely recommend YH&M to any couple who are looking for an officiant for their ceremony. YH&M is a bit pricier than what you would normally expect to pay but they are well worth the money. The ceremony couldn’t have gone any better! Thanks YH&M and Shawn!!

Shawn was a great officiant, able to adjust to a last minute change with no problem. The vows were perfect for us as a couple and he put us at ease immediately with his professionalism and kind attitude. Absolutely amazing! We booked Shawn for out August 2018 wedding- and are so pleased that we did! Shawn was easy to work with, gave great advice and was a complete pro the day of. We wanted a lighthearted ceremony and we wanted people to enjoy themselves. I work in the wedding industry and have seen many a boring ceremony that seemed like the officiant was using a generic template. Shawn made a personalized wedding just for us, and gave great tips for writing our own vows. Great communication over the TWO YEARS that we waited from booking until our wedding (haha!). Shawn Miller was the officiant at my brother’s wedding as well as a good friend’s wedding about 5 years ago; his charisma and style left a lasting impression on my now husband and I. Like everyone else this year, we had to cancel the big wedding and wanted to elope in a special way with just the two us. We couldn’t have picked a better company to help us through with that! An exceptional company! We had a last minute elopement and were cared for above and beyond for the week before and the day of. When I was looking for an officiant for our intimate Deep Cove ceremony, I came across Shawn Miller and the group at Young, Hip and Married. I booked over a year in advance and any time I called or had questions they were responsive, and in the week before the wedding Shawn was available to us via text or email or phone – even when I had a freak out about our marriage license the night before the wedding at 10pm!! Our attendees (5 parents) all said that it was perfect, that it was the best ceremony they had attended in a long time, and that it led them to reflect on the love in their own lives. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

The best decision I have ever made was to get married. The second best decision ever was using Young Hip and Married. Erica, Shawn, and staff were all very helpful, efficient, and super friendly. My partner and I were married in a North Vancouver forest by Shawn and Erica was our photographer. We were looking for a very personal, private and intimate ceremony and that is exactly what we got. Shawn lead us through a beautiful ceremony and gave us some guidance before the ceremony that really helped my husband and I lock into each other and reason we were there together. Shawn has a way of guiding the ceremony, while stepping back enough for us to feel like we were there alone. This made it easy to be our authentic selves in that moment, there was no show. This naturally led to a flood of emotion for both of us, as we felt the weight of our love, the significance of our bond, and the deep appreciation and gratitude that we have for each other.

Erica did a wonderful job of capturing the moment with beautiful and candid photographs of the ceremony and the hour following. The pictures are great!

In addition to the wedding day, they were both very helpful prior to the wedding, helping when we asked for guidance (e.g., alternative ceremony locations for rainy day and where/how to get our marriage license). They always answered the phone when I called with a question. We really feel that they were there for us before and during the wedding.

If you are considering a wedding officiant and/photographer we highly recommend Shawn and Erica. I cannot imagine a better couple to have there supporting a bride and groom on your wedding day. We are so grateful that Shawn and Erica were a part of this significant and special day.

Immediately following our ceremony along with following the days after our wedding, we continued to receive many amazing comments from our guests saying how they never have been apart of a more beautiful ceremony before ours. Looking back on our amazing day, our ceremony was definitely our favorite part of our day and we will never forget it! Thank you so much Shawn – we are so grateful to have found you!

Shawn was absolutely fantastic! We had requested a simple legalization/elopement, and everything turned out exactly as we had imagined it. He showed up at our chosen vacation excited for us and ready to go. He was friendly and engaging with us and our two friends who were there to witness. The whole experience turned out to be a very happy and memorable one! I will definitely be recommending these guys to anyone I know getting married in the future.

Our relationship with YHM has extended for far longer than we anticipated – thanks covid! – and for this reason, among others, we are incredibly grateful for the professionalism, flexibility, and warmth demonstrated by Kadee (who officiated our legal ceremony in 2020) and Shawn (who officiated our larger wedding in 2021). We the pleasure of Shawn officiating our wedding. Hands down, magical. I’ve been to weddings where you hear the officiant/pastor read a scripture or speech that feels like they’ve said the same thing 100x times. We decided to custom write ours with Shawn and it was the best thing we did. We got to tell our story to our loved ones, our way. He even shared reading our story made him tear up during the ceremony. Communication from the entire Young Hip and Married team was effective and smooth. I would highly recommend choosing Shawn to officiate your wedding! He was so personable and relaxed, yet super professional at the same time; it’s clear he has done this many times before. I was especially grateful for this at our wedding rehearsal, where I was feeling a bit lost and nervous about our upcoming ceremony. Shawn came in and, in tandem with our week-of wedding coordinator (who he knew because he knows many people in this industry! Definitely a huge benefit.), totally took charge and told us exactly what we needed to do. I also appreciated Shawn’s words of encouragement, shared quietly with us in free moments, during the actual ceremony itself.

Speaking of the ceremony, Shawn delivered a heartfelt and nicely-written speech. He delivered it like a family friend- and several guests thought we’d known him for a long time. While Shawn provided the bulk of the writing, he encouraged us to change, add, or subtract anything we felt necessary. Although it is never a comfortable feeling being critical of a person’s work, my partner and I felt that Shawn truly wanted our honest feedback. And, as a result, people loved our ceremony and felt like it suited us perfectly.

The last thing I’d like to say is, Shawn is passionate about relationships and the people within them. We could tell from the outset that Shawn was a different personality type from either of us; but, just as you make friends who are different from you, it is absolutely possible to have the same thing in your wedding officiant. I didn’t know that until we met Shawn and decided that he would be a good match for us (and vice versa). We are so glad that we made the right choice!

Shawn from Young, Hip, and Married was the officiant for our wedding in October 2016. Communication leading up to the wedding was prompt, the script he produced was fantastic and wonderfully tailored to us, and he made sure that everything went incredibly smoothly. YHM are paragons of professionalism, right down to the wedding rehearsal (which I highly recommend you take advantage of). I have literally no complaints about them and, were I to do it all over again, I’d still go with YHM. They’re not the cheapest, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

Working with Shawn was seamless and very tailored to us and our story. He brought charm and energy into the ceremony that was a perfect balance to the love and emotion we were feeling. This was our second marriage so we knew what experience we wanted. Shawn was understanding and onboard and took our lead but also helped guide us on best practices. We said “I Do”! Success! YH&M were fantastic from start to finish! As a couple wanting a non religious marriage ceremony, we were finding it restrictive seeking a commissioner who would give us much control of our day and let us have it as casual as we wanted it. I was lucky enough to witness Shawn conduct a wedding ceremony at Cleveland Dam when I happened to be there one day. I was so impressed I cancelled the commissioner I had previously booked (who wasn’t even interested in meeting us before the day), spoke with YH&M (who were very relaxed & friendly from the get go) and booked Shawn with just a little over a week to go before our big day. Shawn catered the ceremony to us and what we wanted. I cannot quite explain the relief this gave us to know that we could finally have the day we had dreamed of! I highly recommend YH&M for anyone whether they are young, old, religious, non religious, traditional or want an original wedding day. They made our day extremely special! Thank you 🙂

The moment I met Shawn I knew I wanted him to officiant my wedding. I was looking at venues and he was handing out business cards. After only speaking to him for 30 seconds, I loved his charisma. My now husband and I met with him shortly afterwards, and my husband liked him too. We decided to go with Young, Hip & Married because we wanted something special, and we wanted our wedding to leave a positive impression in our guests’ memories. We’ve witnessed more than enough wedding ceremonies that were impersonal and boring because the officiant didn’t take the time to get to know the couple like Shawn and his team do. I really liked being able to review, edit, and customize our ceremony as many times as we wanted to before the big day. We even made some last-minute changes only days before, and this wasn’t a problem. Shawn had many great ideas, and some ideas that we didn’t like as much, but he customized our ceremony until we were 100% happy with it. We wrote a few of the details ourselves, including our own vows, and Shawn incorporated everything. He even printed out copies of our vows and brought them to the ceremony for us so we didn’t have to worry about that with everything else going on. After the ceremony, some guests asked how Shawn knows us. Young, Hip & Married does such a great job, your guests will assume the officiant is a long-time friend of yours! I also love that he attended and directed our rehearsal. It took some of the stress away from the big day having someone else tell everyone where they needed to be and what the needed to do that day. I highly recommend Young, Hip & Married to officiant anyone’s wedding! You won’t be disappointed!

Honestly we were so pleased with our little covid wedding. Many changes had to take place to finally get a wedding, but we are so thrilled with how it turned out, and how accommodating Young Hip and Married were. Shawn was so magnetic and engaging; he had us so present in the moment. The few guests we had, and who watched the ceremony virtually, thought Shawn had been our friend for years, when in fact we had never spoke before that morning!!
