LeAnn Blackert (she/her)

When my partner and I exchanged vows, we were on a hiking trail in the mountains – doing something we love, in a place we love, with the person we love.

Whether you share a passion for hiking, love of Dr. Seuss or desire to honour Indigenous spirituality – and whether your ceremony takes place on the beach, in the woods or in a beautiful building – I believe your wedding day should be a true reflection of your love story.

I understand how important your wedding day is and the value in having a ceremony that is authentic to your unique relationship. Your ceremony should be a celebration of your love and everything that brought you to this special moment. Let’s work together to design a ceremony that will live on long beyond your wedding day!

When I’m not officiating weddings, I work as a minister creating new gathering communities known as Wild Churches where we practice land-based spirituality. This is not your grandparents’ church! Like officiating, my work as a minister is grounded in love for one another and the world around us.

In my off hours, you might find me exploring the local trails and waters of Kelowna with my partner, savouring a delicious Okanagan wine, or reading in my favourite chair (while providing a lap for my cat!).

I would love to work with you to create a wedding ceremony that will become a cherished memory through the years. I hope to help relieve the stresses of the day so you can focus on the joy of this amazing moment, no matter how big or small your wedding might be!

  • LeAnn is an amazing officiant. She took everything about us into account…from my partner’s Indigenous background to my fear of public speaking. She crafted a beautiful nature-based ceremony that everyone was blown away by. Would recommend her to any persons wanting to marry anywhere, anytime.

  • Rev LeAnn Blackert officiated our wedding July 11, 2020. Engaged in early 2019 we began planning the wedding of our dreams. In the spring of 2020 as the world shut down & the fear of Covid lingered we all but lost hope our wedding could be the special day we hoped it would be. LeAnn reminded us “It is not the wedding that is important. It is the marriage that is important.” To this day, we value those words & are so appreciative of her support and guidance during that time. Planning a wedding is stressful, but planning a wedding during a pandemic let us tell you is a completely new level of stress. LeAnn showed us such kindness, patience and grace during that time. Reflecting back we would not change anything, our ceremony was not the large party in the country we had originally planned, but rather an intimate gathering in a small church. Our ceremony was one of our happiest moments. We are thankful to LeAnn for her calming presence, her words of encouragement, and all her support. Wedding ceremonies have a reputation for being dry and boring, but not ours. Ours was full of laughter and love. LeAnn did an amazing job & made our wedding everything we wished for.
